About Us
Maitreyawira Ultimate Debaters, known as MAULERS, was first established in 2017 to enhance our passion and ambition in debating—MAULERS then developed into a platform for many debaters in SMA Maitreyawira Batam to hone their skills and potential. With the slogan "Superbia, Sapientia, Diligentia," MAULERS intends to improve ourselves by opening up a new branch that excels in Indonesian Debating in 2020. Until now, MAULERS has continued producing all kinds of achievements; including national and international scaled tournaments.Maitreyawira Ultimate Debaters, dikenal sebagai MAULERS, pertama kali didirikan pada tahun 2017 untuk meningkatkan semangat dan ambisi kami dalam berdebat—MAULERS kemudian berkembang menjadi wadah bagi debater di SMA Maitreyawira Batam untuk mengasah kemampuan dan potensi mereka. Dengan slogan "Superbia, Sapientia, Diligentia," MAULERS bermaksud untuk mengembangkan diri dengan membuka cabang baru yang unggul dalam Debat Indonesia pada tahun 2020. What is LDBI and NSDC?
Lomba Debat Bahasa Indonesia (LDBI) and National Schools Debating Championship (NSDC) are annual national debate competitions held by Pusat Prestasi Nasional, participated by 34 teams representing each province in Indonesia.Check out our achievements here!
2021
In LDBI 2021, MAULERS accomplished sending an individual debater to represent our province, teaming up with other delegates of Riau Islands to represent the province.Cheryn Kang ended her LDBI journey as the Quarterfinalist and Category C Winner.
In 2021 NSDC, MAULERS accomplished sending two individual debater, Gladys Claudia and Rachel Chen, teaming up with other delegates of Riau Islands to represent the province.They ended their NSDC Journey as the Quarterfinalist and Category B Winner.
2022
In LDBI 2022, MAULERS accomplished sending a full team of debaters to represent our province, Riau Islands—the team composed of Albert Ong, Cheryn Kang, and Devika Lalitha.The team ended their LDBI journey as the Quarterfinalist with three medals. Albert Ong as the 5th Best Speaker and Gold Medalist, Cheryn Kang as the 10th Best Speaker and Silver Medalist, and Devika Lalitha as the 13th Best Speaker and Bronze Medalist as well as the 4th Best Reply Speaker.
In 2022 NSDC, MAULERS accomplished sending an individual debater, Rachel Chen, teaming up with other delegates of Riau Islands to represent the province.Rachel Chen ended her NSDC Journey as the Quarterfinalist with a Silver Medal, as the 9th Best Speaker and 13th Best Reply Speaker.
